Default So I accidently deleted my...

... Ascended level 20 Necromancer...I don't know, but is it possible to somehow recover him? I really don't think anyone wants to help me power levle another, and I am certainly not paying 10K+ to get run from Ascalon to Amnoon....any ideas? I ask because WoW has a character recovery thing, where you contact someone by email and they restore it for you...am I out of luck?

I really doubt it, seeing as there already exists a sort of "failsafe" option when you attempt to delete a character. (Entering their name, to MAKE SURE you know WHO you're deleting..)

You're better off contacting Anet support at http://support.guildwars.com. I don't think there's a normal option to restore a character.

ArenaNet only store a limited amount of information so it is NOT possible for you to recover your character.

Ouch, you can give it a shot...I don't think it's impossible that they will do it, just very unlikely....

Shouldn't greif much enless he happened to have Fissure Armor on him...cause it's only one character. Dosn't take that long to level up either.

To my knowledge you can't, but it only makes sense ArenaNet backs up their servers nightly to insure if a setback happens they can fix it, so likelihood is, you REALLY COULD get it back, but still won't because arena isn't going to delve into a backup to restore just one character.

<Almost all MMORPGs backup their servers on a nightly basis, so don't tell me I'm spouting non-sense> :P

Its not possible. A friend accidentally deleted his 2.4 mil exp. fow armor monk. he lost ALOT when he did that and sent a e-mail to anet support and they told him that it is not possible to restore your character after you delete it.

I dont see how you can accidentally delete it though as there are like 3 different failsafes so u dont accidentally delete it.....

Given how many characters I've seen with names similar in structure to

S I L L Y

if someone was silly enough to name their characters

S I L L Y
S I I L Y
S I L I Y

I could see them making a stupid typo and nuking the wrong character. IMO, though, thats their fault for picking a name that's easily screwed up, and while ANet will probably respond, sorry can't help ya, the support guy on the other end is probably laughing his ass off.

I can't. After all, you first have to select your character, then press Delete, and then enter the exact name of the selected character. Well, it still happens, so I guess it's Guild Wars' fault.

It stills boggles the mind how it was accidental though..there is like mentioned, 3 fail-safes. Clicking on him, clicking delete, and typing the name...were you drunk? Did someone else delete it? Makes no sense that you'd go through 3 failsafes and call it accidental unless there's a good reason

If by "accidently", you meant "I was mad as hell about the update and deleted my characters, but now I've calmed down I want them back", then yeah, you can "accidently" delete one!

(just giving you a hard time dude, don't take it personally. Remember: it's just a game.)

Oops, just read this. Were they both Necros? With the same armor and gender?

Well, I nearly "accidentally" deleted some characters that I wanted to keep, but because of the failsafe, I realized right away that it was the wrong character I was trying to delete so it was pretty simple to realize which one I really wanted to delete...So that saved me...So, really, this thread makes you think about how it was actually an "accident"
